Xplornet to Launch 4G HTS Internet this Fall

Xplornet is expected to launch their new high-throughput satellite (HTS) the last week of September which is awesome news for customers lacking speed and bandwidth with their current Internet provider.

Xplornet has been closely watching a similar service launched June 1^st in Europe and so far results are looking very positive. Check out this article for details on the European HTS http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-13616723.  Xplornet’s product will utilize the same baseband and customer terminal equipment, use a similar satellite design and capability and will utilize the same antennas and RF equipment for gateways.

We just installed a set of Scansonic S5 Active Speakers in a client’s home. Now I’m wishing for red – the look is sleek and flawless. When we opened the box to examine the speakers, we discovered a pair of white gloves included in the package for handling the speakers without leaving behind oily fingerprints.

I’m not only impressed by the sound, but I like the fact that it has dual audio inputs. The speakers can be connected to a Shaw Direct receiver using left and right RCA inputs – or an iPod can be directly connected with an 1/8″ plug which simply means, I’m not unplugging one piece of equipment in order to hook up another.

Here’s a really interesting product. The iVision wireless intercom gives you the ability to not only know when somebody is outside your home, but to view and talk to them from any location inside the house. The 2.25″ LCD colour monitor is portable and can be carried from room to room while the camera door unit is mounted outside.
